Nine years ago, fate (and USF housing assignments) brought us together. Kunal arrived at the University of South Florida and was randomly assigned two roommates, Jashal and Vraj, alongside his hometown friend and groomsman, Kush Jani. Little did he know, this arrangement would change his life forever.

Jashal happened to be from Melbourne, Florida—the same hometown as Himali. One day, Kunal made a spontaneous trip to an animal shelter and came home with an adorable puppy, Luna. As luck would have it, Jashal and Himali often walked back from class together, and he casually mentioned, “My roommate just got a puppy—want to come see her?” Of course, she did.

That’s how Himali fell in love with Luna… and, eventually, with Kunal too.

On July 30, 2017, we officially started dating, and from that moment on, we were inseparable. The next three years at USF were filled with late-night study sessions, endless laughter, and the merging of two friend groups into one big family. Himali naturally became the "mom" of Kunal’s apartment—taking care of Baadal, SK, and Neil, making sure they were fed and their place wasn’t a complete disaster. Meanwhile, Kunal took on the role of protector for Himali’s girl gang, always making sure they were safe whenever they went out.

Then came July 31, 2021—the day Kunal proposed. He poured his heart into planning the perfect moment, decorating the backyard with string lights, fresh flowers, and a giant K ❤️ H. He even picked out Himali’s outfit for the big moment. The only problem? Kunal can’t keep a secret from Himali to save his life—so, of course, she figured it out. But that didn’t make the moment any less magical. After she said "yes," our friends and family gathered to celebrate the next chapter of our journey together.

After navigating long distance between Florida, NYC, and Denver, and nine incredible years together, we are finally tying the knot on November 28, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.
